HOW TO OBTAIN A CERTIFICATE OF ABSENCE OR AVAILABILITY OF A PENSION

This certificate can be issued directly by contacting the territorial departments of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, mainly at the place of residence. As of today, you can submit a request for a certificate of absence or presence of a pension at any department of the Pension Fund, regardless of the place of residence. The issuance of this document can be somewhat complicated, especially when a person is not on the territory of Ukraine or simply does not have the time, energy or opportunity to stand in line at the pension administration bodies.

Also, obtaining a certificate of the absence or presence of a pension sometimes requires legal knowledge and a certain amount of time, especially for persons who were forcibly removed from the temporarily occupied territories and the annexed Crimea against their will. WHAT IS A CERTIFICATE OF PRESENCE OR ABSENCE OF PENSION

Certificate of pension availability - a document that indicates information about the accrual of pension payments for a person, as well as the presence of a person in the register of insured persons of the Pension Fund. Certificate of absence of pension - a document that, accordingly, refutes the presence of information in the register of insured persons, and, accordingly, the receipt of pension payments for the person who applied for this certificate. The register of insured persons is a single unified database in which data on insured persons throughout the territory of Ukraine is indicated.

WHY IS A CERTIFICATE OF PRESENCE/ABSENCE OF PENSION NEEDED

Obtaining certificates is in most cases necessary for working and non-working pensioners when traveling abroad to confirm income or refute the receipt of such income.

Certificates may also be required for the following purposes:

• transferring a pension abroad;
• processing a deceased spouse's pension;
• obtaining a pension certificate;
• terminating a business;
• processing additional payments to refugees abroad;
• processing a power of attorney to receive a pension for another person.
