CONFIRMATION OF CROSSING THE BORDER OF UKRAINE

Foreigners and stateless persons who come to Ukraine must receive a confirmation in the form of a stamp in their foreign passport of arrival with the corresponding date of arrival. Stamp of crossing the border at any checkpoint by the State Border Service of Ukraine. The presence of an entry stamp in the foreign passport of a foreigner/stateless person indicates the legal crossing of the state border into the territory of Ukraine. This mark is entered into the unified database of arrival and departure by border crossings for foreigners and stateless persons, named "ARKAN", where this information is stored for a long time. The border crossing stamp contains an arrival/departure mark (arrow), date, checkpoint and type of transport.

CASES OF MAKING A CERTIFICATE ON CROSSING THE STATE BORDER OF UKRAINE

In general, a certificate on crossing the state border is required from foreigners and stateless persons, if the stamp in the foreign passport is not legible, that is, it is visually impossible to read, or it is necessary to know border crossings based on old passports that have lost their validity. Cases of presenting a certificate on crossing the state border:

• for obtaining a tax identification number (if the stamp is not visually visible);
• for registration of acceptance to the citizenship of Ukraine (confirmation of total permanent stay in Ukraine for more than 5 years);
• to formalize a tax resident's certificate (confirmation of stay in Ukraine for more than 183 calendar days);
• for registration of certain notarial acts;
• at the place of request in certain authorized bodies.

TIME LIMITS FOR ISSUING A CERTIFICATE ON CROSSING THE BORDER

A certificate on crossing the state border of Ukraine is formalized upon a corresponding request to the Administration of the State Border Service. From the moment of submitting the relevant package of documents and signing the application for obtaining a certificate, the documents are carefully checked in the relevant databases of the State border service, after which an official answer is formed with a table of data on the place, date and checkpoint of the foreigner for the period requested by the applicant. The time limits for the examination of documents is 2 weeks. This time limits can be extended, as this request is mainly made by post office, the answer to the request is also sent in this way, so the terms can be extended up to 1 month.
