A duplicate of an educational document is a document reissued by an educational institution on obtaining a particular educational or educational qualification level, which has the same legal force as the original document.

The need to obtain a duplicate diploma or an appendix to it arises not only in case of loss or damage of the original document, but also in cases of improper registration of the diploma by a higher educational institution, which in turn entails the impossibility of affixing an apostille on such a diploma. There are often cases when supplements to diplomas of the European model are not stitched and not sealed. For certain reasons, the identity of the signatory in the diploma may not match the Unified State Register of Education Documents, such cases usually occur during periods of change in the leadership of the university. The situation of obtaining duplicate documents on higher education from educational institutions that no longer provide educational services (license revoked), reorganized or located in the occupied territory is a little more complicated. In the case of reorganization for a duplicate diploma, it is necessary to contact the legal successor of the university. If the university is no longer functioning or is located in the occupied territory, then it is necessary to apply to the Ministry of Education of Ukraine to determine the university that will issue a duplicate. For universities located on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea, the Ministry of Education and Culture determines the university on the territory of Ukraine that will issue a duplicate diploma. For universities located on the territory of occupied Donbas, it will be necessary to contact the legal successor.

GET A DUPLICATE OF THE DIPLOMA ISSUED BEFORE 2000

A duplicate diploma is issued on the basis of information contained in the Unified State Electronic Database on Education. Such information is available in the database for documents issued after 2000. If your diploma was issued before 2000, then you will need to provide copies of the lost diploma, and there will also be a request for the archive of the university. If the archive of the university is not available, that is, if you have lost a diploma that was issued before 2000 in Donetsk or Crimea, then you can confirm the receipt of higher education by submitting an application to the court to establish the fact or obtain a corresponding letter from the Ministry of Education and Culture, which can be apostilled and legalize for any country in the world.
