PASTING PHOTOS AFTER THE END OF QUARANTINE RESTRICTIONS

By the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, from July 1, 2023, quarantine and all restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic have officially ended in Ukraine. At the same time, this decision also has an impact on the document processing procedure, in particular, regarding pasting a photo in the passport of a citizen of Ukraine upon reaching the age of 25 and 45.

The fact is that all citizens who did not paste a photo in the period from March 13, 2020 (that is, who turned 25/45 years old from February 13, 2020 until now) could freely choose to paste a photo in their passport or replace it with an ID card. During the period of quarantine restrictions, the legal norm, which obliges to paste a photo only within 1 month from the date of birth, did not apply. Citizens could paste photos at any time when they had the opportunity.

From July 1, 2023, the rule regarding pasting a photo within a month from the date of reaching the appropriate age will come into force again. Thus, citizens who turned 25/45 years old in the period from February 13, 2020 to July 1, 2023 have the last opportunity to paste a photo in the old-style passport no later than August 1, 2023. From August 2, 2023, such citizens will not be able to paste a photo in their passports and will be obliged to replace them with passports of a new model - ID cards without giving the right to choose.
