EXTENSION OF RESIDENCE PERMITS

Information for foreigners whose residence permits have been expired after February 24, 2022. The Cabinet of Ministers settled some issues of documenting foreigners. All foreigners (except citizens of russia) whose residence permits have been expired after February 24, 2022 are persons who have the right of legal stay on the territory of Ukraine on legal grounds. Accordingly, if your temporary residence permit or permanent residence permit has expired or has to be exchanged during martial law in Ukraine, you have the right to:
1) extend (exchange) a permit without registering an administrative offense and paying a fine during martial law and 30 calendar days after its termination;
2) enter the territory of Ukraine (note, only enter. Exit is possible only after the extension/exchange of the permit) in order to extend (exchange) the residence permit.

The main point in this case is that a foreigner must necessarily have a reason to extend (exchange) a residence permit.
